A. There are 17 coaches with 46 seats each. So total number of possible passengers = 17*46 = 782 passengers.

Since 12 seats are empty, number of people in the party = 782-12 = 770

B. There are 998 football supporters and coaches with 53 seats each.

Number of coaches needed = 998/53 = 18.83 =19 coaches since we cannot have fractional coaches.

(i)Number of coaches needed = 19

(ii) Number of empty seats = 19*53 -998 = 9 seats
