Given :
Weight of the rod AB= 100N
Length of the rod AB= 2m
Load acting on the rod = 20 kgf
To Find :
The tension in the strings attached to the rod
Solution :
- Let us Assume Tension in the string at A = T₁
Tension in the string at B = T₂
- By considering moments at point A
- The net force on the rod should be zero
- Sum of upward forces = Sum of downward forces
The tension in the strings are 200N & 100N respectively .
