1 question:

1) (a) What is neutralization? Describe the process of neutralization with the help of an example

solution:

if acid and base are mixed together ..they form neutral and this process is called neutralization..this happens due to excess of hydrogen and hydroxide.

example:NaOH + HCl → H2O and NaCl.

2 question:

Write a word equation for the neutralization reaction between sodium hydroxide and

hydrochloric acid. Also write the chemical formulae of all the substances involved.

solution:

equation:NaOH + HCl → H2O and NaCl.

chemical formula:

HCl (Hydrochloric acid) reacts with a base i.e., NaOH (Sodium hydroxide) and form salt i.e., NaCl (Sodium chloride) and water (H2O).
