1. (a) Why are the chemical properties of isobars not similar?
(b) Chlorine occurs in nature in two isotopic forms with masses 35 u and 37 u in the ratio 3:1. Calculate
the average atomic mass of chlorine atom on the basis of this data.

(a) the chemical properties of isobarsare not similar because their atomic number are different. inisobars elements have different atomic number but the same mass number therefore the chemical properties are not similar.
