Balanced chemical equations of the following are:

  • (a) Carbon + Oxygen --------> Carbon dioxide

Carbon atom makes covalent bonds with 2 atom of Oxygen to form Carbon dioxide.

             C + O₂---------> CO₂

  • (b) Hydrogen + Chlorine ----------> Hydrogen chloride.

2 atom of Hydrogen is bonded with 2 atom of chloride to form 2 molecule of Hydrogen chloride.

             H₂ + Cl₂ --------->  2 HCl

  • (c) Barium chloride +Sodium sulphate -------->Barium sulphate + sodium chloride

Sodium sulphate in aqueous state reacts with an aqueous solution of Barium chloride to form ppt of Barium sulphate with aqueous Sodium chloride.

            BaCl₂ + Na₂SO₄ ---------> BaSO₄ + 2 NaCl
