Answer:

1. because they are stable

2. it means that sulphur has 8 atoms and it is polyatomic

3. Au, the Latin name of gold is aurum and the symbol of gold is derived from that

4.No3

Atomicity is 3

Answer:

1.Noble gases are monoatomic because they have complete octet (apart from Helium, which has duet) , hence they are highly stable on their own and do not react with others to form compounds in standard temperature and pressure conditions.

2.Of sulphur is 8, because atomicity is defined as no. of atoms in a stable molecule. Like, oxygen molecule is O2 and hence its atomicity is 2. Similarly Sulphur occurs in 2 states being S8 and S6.

3.Gold gets its name from the Anglo-Saxon word "geolo" for yellow. The symbol Au comes from the Latin word for gold, "aurum."

4. Nitric acid has the chemical formula HNO 3, so the mass number would be the sum of the atomic masses for hydrogen (1), nitrogen (14) and three lots of oxygen masses (3x16). So, (1+14+48) = 63
