three times the former loss. What is the

Cost price be Rs x

Let the loss be Rs y

Selling Price :- Rs 500

500 = x - y…(a)

W(hen sold at Rs 700 profit is tripled

700 = x + 3y..(b)

Equating a & b

200 = 4y

y = 50

Loss Rs 50

Cost price:- Selling price+ Loss

Cost price = Rs 550
