TOPIC :- CHEMICAL KINETICS

SUB-TOPIC :- COLLISION THEORY OF CHEMICAL KINETICS.

CONCEPT USED :- For an exothermic reaction, product has lesser energy content than reactants and activation energy is the energy required by the reactants to reach the transition state.

PLEASE SEE THE GRAPH ATTACHED FOR THE PROOF OF THE FORMULA :-

Activation energy of backwards reaction = heat of reaction + activation energy if forward reaction.

= 17 + 40

= 57 KJ/mol.

Hence, the activation energy if backward reaction is 57 kj/mol.

Hope helped ..!
