1. An object 1.5 cm high when placed in front of a concave mirror, produce a virtual image 3 cm high. If the object is placed at a distance of 6 cm from the pole of the mirror,calculate: a) the position of the image; b) the focal length of the mirror

real image length h  2 =−3cm

Position of object from the mirror u=−15cm

Mirror magnification formula

m=  h  1 /h  2   =−  u /v

1.5 /−3 =  −15 /−v

​v=−30cm

Apply Mirror formula  

f/ 1 =  −30/ 1  +  −15 /1

f=−10cm
