1. An object moves along a square boundary such that it completes one complete round in 1 minute. If one side of square is 10 m, find distance, displacement, speed & velocity after two rounds.
2. In q no 1 above, what will be distance, displacement, speed & velocity after half round?

1.

length of one side = 10m

distance covered

in Ist round = 10 × 4

= 40 m

total distance in 2 round = 40 × 2

= 80 m

time = 2 minute

= 120 s

Speed = distance / time

= 80 / 120

= 2/3 m/s

Since starting point and ending point are same ,

Displacement = 0

since displacement is 0

velocity = 0

2.

During half round ,

distance travelled = 20 m

time taken = 30 s

speed = 20 / 30

= 2/3 m/s

displacement = diagonal

= 10 × √2

= 14.1 m

velocity = 14.1 / 30

= 0.47 m/s
