1. An object travels 16 m in 4 s and then
another 16 m in 2 s. What is the average

Solution:-

Average speed :- It is the ratio of total distance covered by total time taken by a body during his journey is known as average speed.

From definition,

Average\: speed = \dfrac{Total \:distance\:travelled} {Total \:time\: taken}

Now,

 Av_s = \dfrac{16 +16}{4+2}

Av_s = \dfrac{32}{6}

Av_s = 5.33 m/s

hence,average speed will be = 5.33m/s
