☞︎︎︎ Refraction of Light

The phenomenon by which a ray of light while travelling from one media to another bends at the point of incident ( boundary separating two media ) therefore proceeds in the direction different from the direction of incident ray .

Always remember that ,

  • Refraction of light is a surface phenomenon.
  • The incident ray after suffering refraction is termed as refracted ray .
  • The intensity of refracted ray is always less than that of incident ray due to partial reflection at boundary .

Please refer to the attachment provided showing an incident ray suffering partial reflection and refraction at the boundary media .
