Answer:
All muscle tissues have 4 characteristics in common:
excitability.
contractility.
extensibility - they can be stretched.
elasticity - they return to normal length after stretching
Answer:
1) Striated muscles are highly organized tissues (Fig. 1) that convert chemical energy to physical work. The primary function of striated muscles is to generate force and contract in order to support respiration, locomotion, and posture (skeletal muscle) and to pump blood throughout the body (cardiac muscle).
2) By the late 1830s, botanist Matthias Schleiden and zoologist Theodor Schwann were studying tissues and proposed the unified cell theory. The unified cell theory states that: all living things are composed of one or more cells; the cell is the basic unit of life; and new cells arise from existing cells.
3) Role of fungi in industrial production: Preparation of fermented foods and bakery products. Preparation of alcoholic beverages. Preparation of organic acids.
4) ATP (Adenosine tri-phosphate) , ADP (Adenosine di-phosphate)
5) Respiration is a controlled biological process. Combustion is an uncontrolled process. Energy is released in a stepwise manner with different biochemical reactions.
