1.plates at our planets surface move because of the intense heat in the earth's core that causes molten rock in the mantle layer to move .It moves in pattern called a convection cells that form when warm materials rises ,cools and eventually sink down.

2. Erosion is the action of surface ( such as water flow and wind) that removes soil,rock ,or dissolved materials from one location of the earth crust ,and then transports it to another location ( not to be confused with weathering which involves no movement.)
