The angle which you have written as 180 - 2y = x because OA = OB (radii of the circle). So ∠OAB = ∠OBA.

∠(OAC + CAB) = y = 2x

x + ∠CAB = 2x which gives us ∠CAB = x.

Now summing up the angles in triangle OAB, we get x + 2x + 2x = 180 i.e. x = 36
