Autotrophs can reduce carbon dioxide to make organic compounds for biosynthesis and as stored chemical fuel. Most autotrophs use water as the reducing agent, but some can use other hydrogen compounds such as hydrogen sulfide.

Food chain is the chain flow of food from producers to consumers.Food chain must start with a producer ,it can not start with a consumer because beginner should be a source of food.Consumer can not start a food chain because consumer is itself dependent on the producer for food.
