It is because the mean is the observation or a sum for the average. The greater the number will be  the greater the mean and vice  versa.

But for median it is nothing but  the calculation of the  middle term from the group or class of informations given.

Mode may be defined as the number which occurs most of the times or basically the number with highest frequency.

So Arithmetic mean is affected because it is the calculation of the average value.
