Physical activity and exercise can have immediate and long-term health benefits. Most importantly, regular activity can improve your quality of life.
A physically fit healthy body tends to increases the proportion of endorphins in our mind by reducing body induced mental stresses. Endorphins are considered as “feeling good” chemicals that are released by our brain to make us feel positive and jolly. Thus, a healthy body leads to a healthy mind.Lack of time is a well-known barrier to physical activity. It is not known, however, whether this barrier reflects actual time commitments. These women devoted much of their time to their responsibilities as workers, housekeepers, mothers and wives. They also spent 28 hours per week in sedentary leisure-time activity.
The most successful people in life are disciplined. Discipline is made up of the basic tools we use to cope with life’s problems and challenges. Scott Peck in his book The Road Less Traveled says that “without discipline we can solve nothing.”
