Answer:

let pole height=h

6:8=h:20

6/8=h/20

8h=120

h=120/8

h=15 meter

Given :-

  • Height of the tree = 6 m
  • Length of the shadow = 8 m
  • Pole casts a shadow of length = 20 m

To Find :-

  • The length of the pole.

Solution :-

Let the length of the pole be x.

Then,

:\implies\sf{6:8 = x:20}

:\implies\sf{\dfrac{6}{8} = \dfrac{x}{20}  }

:\implies\sf{8x = 20\times 6 }

:\implies\sf{8x = 120 }

:\implies\sf{x = \dfrac{120}{8} }

:\implies\sf{x = 15\:m}

Hence, Required length of the pole is 15 m.
