1. Fossil fuels are formed from the dead remains of living organisms. The formation of fossil fuels is a very slow process, it takes millions of years. Thus, fossil fuels are exhaustible natural resources.

2. The burning of fossil fuels is the main cause of air pollution. On burning, these produce harmful gases like carbon monoxide, sulfur dioxide, etc and cause global warming in the atmosphere. Then this leads to depletion of the ozone layer. Hence we should use fossil fuels only when absolutely necessary.
