1.Basing from the figure above ,the temperature of the layer between the tropopause and stratopause increase as the altitude, why is this so?

2.water vapor is the one of the gases found in the atmosphere through its not as abundant as the other gases.its amount varies from day and depends also on the area. What is its significant in the atmosphere

3.The atmosphere house the ozone gas that is vital to our survival. However, student have shown it's depletion overtime due to the release of ODS(Ozone -Depleting Substances)in the atmosphere like CFCs that quickly ozone molecule than it is naturally fomed.Hence, what are the implication of ozone depletation?

  1. Temperature in the stratosphere rises with increasing altitude, because the ozone layer absorbs the greater part of the solar ultraviolet radiation.
  2. Water vapor is also the most important greenhouse gas in the atmosphere. Heat radiated from Earth's surface is absorbed by water vapor molecules in the lower atmosphere. The water vapor molecules, in turn, radiate heat in all directions. Some of the heat returns to the Earth's surface.
  3. Ozone layer depletion increases the amount of UVB that reaches the Earth's surface. Laboratory and epidemiological studies demonstrate that UVB causes non-melanoma skin cancer and plays a major role in malignant melanoma development
