This term can be translated into English to mean ‘Majoritarianism’.

Majoritarianism is a philosophy that can be traced back to traditional political systems.

This political system stems out of the philosophy that in a society, most decisions that are taken, which affect the society must have the acceptance of the Majority members of the society.  

This majority may be based on similarities on the basis of religion, social class, language etc.
