Given:   1/(√9  - √8)

To find :  Simplified Value

Solution:

1/(√9  - √8)

√9 = √3 * 3 = √3² = 3

√8 = √2 * 2 * 2  = √2² * 2 = 2√2

= 1/( 3 - 2√2)

on rationalising

= (3 +  2√2)/( 3 - 2√2)(3 +  2√2)

= (3 +  2√2)/( 9 - 8)

= 3 +  2√2

= 3 + 2(1.414)

= 3 + 2.828

= 5.828

1/(√9  - √8)  = 3 +  2√2 = 5.828
