1. Calculate the number of moles for the
following:
(i) 52 g of He (finding mole from
mass)
(ii) 12.044 x 1023 number of He atoms
(finding mole from number of
particles).

Answer:

i) = 13 moles,ii) = 2 moles

Explanation:

i) no.of moles = given mass/molar mass

molar mass of He  = 4 g

given mass of He  = 52 g

52/4 = 13 moles

ii) 1 mole of He  = 6.022 x 10^23 atoms = Avogadro No.

given no.of atoms  = 12.044 x 10^23 atoms

no.of moles  = given no.of atoms / Avogadro No.

                     =  12.044 x 10^23 / 6.022 x 10^23

                     = 2 moles

hope it helps ......................
