2. Characteristics of a plane mirror:

  • The height of image formed is equal to that of height of object.
  • The image formed is virtual & erect.
  • The image is laterally inverted.
  • The distance between the object and mirror is same to that of image and mirror.
  • Image is formed inside the mirror.

3. The coating of silver in a transparent (glass, probably) surface is called coating of silver. It is used as it is the best reflector of light.

More:

  • A plane kept in focus of a mirror normal to the principal axis is called focal plane.
  • Focus of a plane mirror is not defined. (f = ∞ = ND.)
  • Line joining the image to the object is 90° to the mirror surface. (See attachment.)
