Given : Cecilia needs to buy some cardboard to build a box 12 inches long, 8 inches wide, and 10 inches high.

To Find : How much cardboard is needed to build the box?

What is asked in the problem

What are the given facts?

What is the formula you need to use to solve to problem?

Solution:

asked in the problem  is the   cardboard required to build a cuboid shape / (rectangle prism )  box

For that Surface area of box need to be find

Given are the dimensions of the box

Length , width and height

Formula to be used  = 2 ( lb + bh + lh)

l = 12  , b = 8  , h = 10

cardboard is needed to build the box = 2 ( 12 * 8 + 8 * 10 + 12 * 10)

= 2( 96 + 80 + 120)

= 2( 296)

= 592 sq inches

A box in the shape of rectangular prism has a length of 25 meters, width 15 meters, and height of 10 meters

Surface area of box =  2 ( lb + bh + lh)

l = 25  , b = 15  , h = 10

2 ( 25 * 15 + 15 * 10 + 25 * 10)

= 2 ( 375 + 150 + 250)

=2 ( 775)

=  1550 sq meters
