#1) Chalk contains 10% calcium, 3% carbon, 12% oxygen and the remaining, sand. Find the amount of carbon and calcium (in grams) in
2 1/2kg of chalk. Also find the amount of sand (in kg).

#2) Find the whole quantity if :
a) 25% of it is 9
b) 75% of it is 15
c) 12% of it is Rs. 1080
d) 8% of it is 40 litres

SAND = 100%- 25% =75%
CHALK =2.5KG = 2.5*1000= 2500GM
AMOUNT OF CARBON = 3%*2500=75GM
AMOUNT OF Calcium  = 10%* 2500 = 250 gm
amount of sand in kg = 75% *2.5 =15/8kg







2 a) let in all the parts whole be  x 
so 25%*x = 9
x =36

 b ) 75%*x = 15
so x =20


c ) 12 % * x = Rs 1080
 so x = Rs 9000

d) 8%*x = 40 liters 
  so x = 500 liters
