Answer:

a.) √ 45 is a rational or ir-rational-number. Since 3 is a rational number and √5 is an ir-rational- number.

b.)Since 55 is not a perfect square, it is an irrational number. This means that the answer to "the square root of 55?" will have an infinite number of decimals. The decimals will not terminate and you cannot make it into an exact fraction.

c.)Yes it rational because the definition of rational is the number can be made into a ratio (fraction) of 'a' over 'b'. Since the square root of 196 equals 14 and 14 can be written as 14 over 1…OR 28 over 2; or 42 or 3; 56 over 4…. get the pattern, it is definitely rational.

d.)√576 = 24

24 IS A RATIONAL NUMBER...

HENCE √576 IS ALSO A RATIONAL NUMBER...

sqrt(3) can't be expressed as the ratio of integers and when written as a decimal it does not terminate, so it is irrational. Thus sqrt(27) is itself irrational.
