1 cm3 of gold is drawn into a wire. Find the length of the wire in metres if its diameter is 0.1mm

Here, we are given that the gold had a volume of 1 cm³. The price of gold was drawn into a wire which had a diameter of 0.1 mm. We will first need to change the mm into cm and then we will need to halve it to obtain the radius.

After that, we put all the provided values in the formula.

V(gold taken) = V(cylindrical gold wire)

1 cm³ = πr²h

1 = π × 1/400 × h

h = 7/22 × 400

h = 127.27cm
