1. Coloured wheel Description:
Draw a circle. Mark 8 points on its boundary. Join 2 points at a time (in such a
way that they should be perpendicular to each other) to get 4 diameters.
(a) Name all line segments and all angles obtained.
(b) Colour all parts (known as sectors) with different colours.
(c) Measure all 8 angles and find their sum of identify the supplementary and
complementary angles.

By making 8 points on the boundary of a circle

and joining 2 points at a time, it is not necessary we will get the diameters

It will be a chord , not necessary diameter

So the best way is to would be to mark 4 points on a boundary of circle

and then draw 4 lines from these point such that, it passes through the centre

and mark 4 points on other side of boundary of circle

and we will get now 4 Diameters

Concept:

The concept of geometry is used to solve or draw the circle.

Given:

There will be  points on the boundary of the circle . 2 points at a time have to be added to get  diameters.

To find:

We have to give name all line segments and all angles obtained, Color all parts (known as sectors) with different colors, Measure all 8 angles and find their sum of identify the supplementary and complementary angles.

Solution:

Here the points in the boundary of the circle is  A,B,C,D,E,F,G,H

(a) The line segments are  OA,OB,OC,OD,OE,OF,OG,OH.

The angles which are obtained are -               ∠AOB,∠BOC,∠COD,∠DOE,∠EOF,∠FOG,∠GOH,∠HOA.

(b) Different parts are colored in the image of the circle.

(c)  All the 8 angles are equal. So each angle is  360°/8 = 45°

    The supplementary angle of  45 is 180 - 45 = 135°.

    The complementary  angle of  45 is 360° - 45 = 315°  .

Hence , The sum of supplementary and complementary angle is 135 + 315 = 450°
