1. Copper and silver lie below in the electrochemical series and yet they are found in the combined state as sulphides in nature. Why?

Of course, the copper and silver sulphides are found in combined state which should not be as they are below hydrogen, but due to the strong polarizing power of Cu and Ag, they form very stable sulphides and so the sulphides exist in combined state too.
