actually ,
cos2∅ = cos²∅ - sin²∅
= cos²∅ - (1 - cos²∅)
= 2cos²∅ - 1
cos2∅ = 2cos²∅ -1
cos2∅ + 1 = 2cos²∅ we use this concept here,
that's why , 1 + cos∅ = 2cos²(∅/2)
