( 1 + cos x + sin x ) / ( 1 + cos x - sin x )

= cos x ( 1 + cos x + sin x ) / cos x ( 1 + cos x - sin x )

= ( cos x + cos²x + cos x sin x ) / cos x ( 1 + cos x - sin x )

= ( cos x ( 1 + sin x ) + 1 - sin² x ) ) / cos x ( 1 + cos x - sin x )

= ( cos x ( 1 + sin x ) + ( 1 + sin x )( 1 - sin x ) / cos x ( 1 + cos x - sin x )

= ( 1 + sin x )( 1 + cos x - sin x ) / cos x ( 1 + cos x - sin x )

= ( 1 + sin x ) / cos x

Hence proved !

Anonymous: a / b can be written as cos a / cos b . multiply the denominator and numerator both by cos x .
