1) Cost of 10 oranges and 12 mangoes is rupees 28 but the cost of 12 oranges and 10 mangoes is rupees one less, find the cost of a mango and an orange.​

and mangoes  cost =y

then 10x + 12y = 28 equation 1

and 12x + 10y = 27 equation 2

multiply equation 1 with 12 and equation 2 with 10 gives

120x + 144y = 336 equation 3

120x + 100y = 270 equation 4

subtract equation 4 from equation 3

gives

44y = 66

y = 66/44 = 6/4= 1.5

putting the value of y in equation 1

10x + 12(1.5) = 28

10x + 18= 28

10x = 10

x = 10/10 = 1

cost of orange = x = 1

cost of mango = y = 1.5
