PROVE THAT

ANSWER

LHS

 \dfrac{1 - cot \: a}{1 - tan \: a}   \\  \\  = \frac{1 - cot \: a}{1 -  \frac{1}{cot \: a} }   \\  \\  =  \dfrac{( - )(cot \: a - 1)}{ \dfrac{cot \: a - 1}{cot \: a} }  \\  \\  =  - cot \: a

RHS

HENCE LHS =RHS
