a) An Indian politician, writer and international former diplomat, Mr. Shashi Tharoor, who is currently serving as Member of Parliament, briliantly argued about Britain owing reparations for its exploitation of the subcontinent.

b)  He demanded reparation payments from the UK to India for 200 years of its colonial rule. He also argued that British colonial rule totally damaged the Indian economy.

c) Though there are some supposed benefits of British colonialism, such as railways and democracy, that are still relevant in a country like India. But still they were constructed for the motive of further economic exploitation. He ended his speech by giving a suggestion that Britishers should pay one pound sterling per annum for the next two centuries as symbolic reparation.
