1. Define density. How is it related to floating and sinking in water?

2. Why does the volume of water not increase when sugar is added to it?

3. Explain the structure of ball and socket joint. Give two examples of such joints
in the human body. What kind of movement does such a joint allow?

4. List the functions of skeletal system.

5.While measuring the length using metre scale, the position of the eye affects the
measurement. Justify your answer.

6. Give an example of an object that has more than one type of motion.

7. Breaking of glass and burning of paper are changes in which we cannot get back
the original substances. Write one similarity and dissimilarity between these two
changes.

8.Classify the following as physical and chemical change.
Tearing of paper, formation of seed from flower, dissolving sugar in water ,
burning of coal

Hi...

AnSwErS :

1. Density is mass per unit volumn.

If the density of an object is less than water it will float.

2. Sugar is soluble in water, The sugar particles occupy the space present between the molecules of water. Hence the volume does not increase.

3. In a ball and socket joint the end of the one bone is round like a ball, which fits into the hollow part in the other bone. It allows movement in all directions. Example: Shoulder and hip foils.

4. *Supports the body

*Protects the internal organs

*Helps in movement

*Makes blood cells

*Holds the Muscles

5. While measuring the length using metre scale, the position of the eye should be vertically above the point where the measurment is to be taken.

6. Earth- Rotational and periodic motion.

7. Dissimilarity:

Breaking of glass is physical change ( No new substance iis formed )

Burning of paper is chemical change ( New susbstance is formed )

Simmilarity:

Both are irreversible

8. Tearing of paper: Physical change

Formation of seed from flower: Chemical change

Dissolving sugar in water: Physical change

Burning of coal: Physical change

Tysm!,

itna saare question ek hi baar bari bari answer dena padega

(1)ans:-Objects that are more dense than water will not float in that water (adding salt to water increases its density and so becomes more bouyant). ... In such a case, the water displaced by the floating object will be equal in weight to the floating object (Archimedes' Principle).

(2):-Because sugar dissolve in water and fix into empty space between molecules. The level of water doesn't change when sugar is dissolved in it as it is soluble in water it occupies space between the 2 molecules of water.Hence it's level ie it's volume doesn't increases

(3):-The ball and socket joint (or spheroid joint) is type of synovial joint in which the ball-shaped surface of one rounded bone fits into the cup-like depression of another bone

ex:Examples of this form of articulation are found in the hip, where the round head of the femur (ball) rests in the cup-like acetabulum (socket) of the pelvis, and in the glenohumeral joint of the shoulder,

(4):-The human skeleton performs six major functions; support, movement, protection, production of blood cells, storage of minerals, and endocrine regulation.

(5):-The statement, "While measuring length using a metre scale, the position of the eye does not affect the measurement", is false. When using metre scale, one needs to keep the eye vertically above the measurement point.

(6):-Clocks and table fans are the most common examples.
