ans 1.) diffusion is the process in which the particles of matter in one object splits and gets mixed with another particles of matter. ex. dissolving potassium permanganate in water.

ans 2.) if a cell is put in a solution where the concentration of water is higher than the cell, the cell will swell up by osmosis. it may even burst. such solutions are called hypotonic solutions ( dilute solutions ).

ans 3.) if a cell is put in a solution where the concentration of water is equal to that of the cell, then there will be no change. such solutions are known as isotonic solutions.

ans 4.) if a cell is put in a solution where the concentration of water is lower than that of the cell, then the cell will lose its water and shrink by osmosis. such solutions are known as hypertonic solutions ( less dilute ). for ex. mixing salt or sugar in the water will make the water hypotonic solution.

ans 5.) as mentioned, the cell will lose all of its water or will shrink due to osmosis.

hope it helps you
