Succession states - A country resulting from the partition of another one.

Peshwas - The chief minister of a Maratha prince.

Khalsa - The body or company of fully initiated Sikhs, to which devout orthodox Sikhs are ritually admitted at puberty.

Chauth - Chauth (from Sanskrit meaning one-fourth) was a regular tax or tribute imposed, from early 18th century, by the Maratha Empire in India. It was an annual tax nominally levied at 25% on revenue or produce.

Sardeshmukhi -  Sardeshmukhi  was an additional one-tenth on the collected ‘chauth’. It was a form of tribute to the Maratha king.
