Solution :-

Let the numerator be x ;

Denominator = x - 4

If 6 is added to the numerator, then :-

Numerator = x + 6

According To Question :-

=) x + 6 = 3 (x - 4)

=) x + 6 = 3x - 12

=) x - 3x = -12 - 6

=) -2x = -18

=) x = 18/2

=) x = 9

So, the numerator is 9 ;

Denominator = 9 - 4 = 5.

So, the Fraction is :- 9/5

Answer: 9/5

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the numerator be x. It is given that denominator is 4 less than numerator,

Hence,

Denominator = x - 4

Numerator  = x

Fraction = x/(x-4)

Now, According to question if 6 is added to numerator then denominator becomes thrice. It means,

Numerator + 6 = 3 × Denominator

x + 6 = 3 (x - 4)

x + 6 = 3x - 12

6 + 12 = 3x - x

18 = 2x

2x = 18

x = 18/2

x = 9

Hence,

Fraction = 9/(9-4) = 9/5
