A concave mirror forms a real and inverted image if it is placed anywhere between the the focus and infinity.

Explanation:

  • The mirror equation is given by the formula, 1/v + 1/u = 1/f
  • Now  Consider the above equation. In case of a real and inverted image there will be we always the formation of the image as the same side of the the mirror as the object.
  • In case of a concave mirror the focus is always on the same side as the object.. Hence if the the object distance and the focus is positive then the image has to be positive. Hence the image has to be real and inverted.
