Answer:

1) Take a transparent glass tube or a plastic pipe and a rubber balloon.

2) Stretch the rubber sheet tightly over one end of the pipe.

3) Hold the pipe at the middle, keeping it in a vertical position as shown in the figure.

4) Pour some water into the pipe. The rubber balloon will bulge out. Note the height of the water column in the pipe.

5) Pour some more water. Observe again the bulge in the rubber balloon and the height of the water column. in the pipe.

6) Repeat the process and note the bulging in the rubber balloon and the height of the water column in the cylinder.

We will observe that the bulging of the rubber balloon increase with the increase in height of the liquid column. The pressure exerted by water at the bottom of the container depends on the height of its column.
