Its too big an answer to fit ....in winters especially dec to Jan the western disturbances cross north of india. it induces a low pressure over punjab plains. winds are generally westerlies..
in summers the pressure pattern is generally diffused. heat lows exist over nearly all of India..winds vary in the northern part from the southern part of India..the winds at higher levels reduce in speed.
