When we inhale air ,our lungs expand to allow more and more air into them ,the diaphragm also contacts and gets smaller ,which allows more area to expand for the lungs ,while exhaling ,the diaphragm and the lungs go back to their normal places which creates pressure in the lung and therefore the air is exhaled
