QUESTION -:

Divide a pack of 400 sweets between Sheena and Meena so that Sheena gets 30% of the sweets. Also find the ratio of their shares.

TO FIND -:

  • No. of sweets with Sheena
  • Ratio of shares of sweets

NOW -:

30% of 400 = 120

Hence, Sheena gets 120 sweets.

Share of sweets with Meena = 100% - 30%

= 70%

70% of 400 = 280

Hence, Meena gets 280 sweets.

NOW -:

Ratio of their shares = Sweets with Meena / Sweets with Sheena

= 280/120

= 7/3

Answer:

Ratio is 3/7.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let Sheena gets x number of sweets.

It is given that:

30% of 400 = x

30/100 * 400 = x (cancel the zeroes of 400 & 100)

30 * 4 = x

120 = x

Since, we have the number of sweets Sheena have, lets find the number of sweets Meena have.

Let tho no. of sweets Meena have be y.

120 + y = 400

y = 400 - 120

y = 280

Lets find the ratios:-

= x/y

= 120/280

= 12/28

= 6/14

= 3/7
