I love it. Largely because I have spent more than enough time behind the wheel of a car and its just boring now. But being in a plane is lots more fun, I get where I’m going faster, have a great view out the front window, and can set my own schedule.
I can also go to places few people get to. I can recall trips to Mexico where *I* was the “tourist attraction”. People came out of their shops and houses to see the Gringo walking by.
The downside is weather. Although licensed to fly in bad weather, I don’t chose to do it it’s just not fun. I’d rather wait for clear weather. That usually doesn’t take long, since my destinations are usually places where the weather is good anyway.
Oh, and I suppose luggage space. Even though I travel light, there were times when I wished I had enough space to bring back a souvenir that just would not fit.
