1. Draw a line, say AB, take a point C outside it. Through C, draw a line parallel to AB using ruler and compasses only.

......steps of construction ✍︎....

  • a line AB with point C outside
  • mark a point D on the line AB
  • with D centre of any radius draw an Arc intersecting AB at E, CD and F
  • with C as centre
  • same radius as before,
  • draw an act intersecting CD ad G
  • open compass to length EF
  • now G as centre
  • and compass open the same radius as before
  • draw an arc intersecting as previous arc at H
  • draw a line m passing through C and H
  • thus M is the line parallel to AB and passing through C
  • M parallel AB
