1. Draw a triangle ABC with AB=6cm, BC=7cm, CA=9cm.
Take a point P on AB such that BP=2cm. From P draw a line parallel to BC which intersect AC at Q. Measure the required sides and verify that AP/BP = AQ/CQ.​

this result arise from an identity. which says take any point . lets say P on one side of a triangle lets say AB and let P divide AB in the ratio m/n then if we draw a line paralled to 2nd side (BC) which meets third side(AC) at Q then Q will divide AC in the same ratio as P divided the line AB . so hence the same ratio
