1.Draw a velocity versus time graph of a stone thrown vertically upwards and
then coming down wards after attaining the max height.
2.How will you show that the slope of displacement-time graph gives velocity
of the body?

Answer:

1.

Let the intial velocity = um/s

Let t be the time taken to reach the maximum height h

A maximum height, velocity became 0 and the ball starts its journey backward.

Here in the graph, we can see that velocity in backward journey increases but in negative direction till the stone reaches to ground.

(check the 1st attachment for the graph)

2.

In Displacement time graph, the time is taken on X axis and displacement on y axis.

The slope of displacement time graph gives velocity. Since velocity= displacement/ time.

(check the 2nd attachment for the graph)
