1. Draw an angle of any measure and name it angle A. Using compasses and ruler, draw
- another angle equal to angle A.
2. Draw an angle XYZ equal to 90°. Using the compasses and ruler, draw Yo the bisector
of angle XYZ. Measure angle XYO and angle ZYO. Are they equal?

CONSTRUCTION

Step-by-step explanation:

(1) Step of Construction:

  1. taking A as a center and convinient radius, draw an arc cutting the arms of CAB at  point  D and E.
  2. draw a ray PQ with P as center, and the same radius as above , draw an arc cutting the ray PQ at S
  3. taking S as a center and radius = DE, draw an arc intersecting the previous arc at point T.
  4. join PT and produce it to form a ray PR.
  5. angle RPQ is the required angle .
  6. \angle RPQ = \angle CAB

(2) Step of Construction:

  1. Draw the arm YZ.
  2. Place the point of the compass at Y and draw an arc that cuts the arm at Q.  Place the point of the compass at Q and draw an arc of radius YQ that cuts the arc drawn in Step 2 at R.
  3. With the point of the compass at R, draw an arc of radius YQ to cut the arc drawn in Step 2 at S.
  4. With the point of the compass still at R, draw another arc of radius YQ near X as shown.
  5. With the point of the compass at S, draw an arc of radius YQ to cut the arc drawn in step 5 at X.
  6. Join X to Y. The angle XYZ is 90º.
  7. to bisect XYZ, Put the sharp end of your compasses at point Y and make one arc on the line YZ(point A) and another arc on line XY (point B)
  8. Put the sharp end of the compasses at A and make an arc within the lines XY and YZ. Do the same at B and make sure that the second arc intersects the first arc.
  9. Draw a line from point Y to the points of intersection of the 2 arcs. This line bisects ∠XYZ.
  10. Yes, ∠XYO = ∠ZYO as bisector or an angle divide it into two equal parts.

(3) Step of Construction:

  1. Construct ∠AOC = 120°
  2. Produce ∠AO to B.
  3.  Draw OD to bisect ∠COB.
  4. Now ∠COD = 30° , Therefore, ∠AOD = 120° + 30° = 150°
  5. ∠AOD = 150°.
  6. now, repeat the same steps as above in (1) to copy the angle ABC
